How to Use Mama on Your Meat!

          Picture
So many times people tell Mama that they have a whole cabinet of rubs and they don't have a clue on how to use them.  So here is Mama's advice:

The best way to use a Mama Mara Meat Rub:
          1. Sprinkle as much dry rub on the piece of meat (chicken, beef, pork, fish).
          2. Pat or rub dry rub into meat.
          3. Turn meat over, sprinkle and pat or rub again.
          4. Place meat in zip lock bag.
          5. Put in refrigerator 1-24 hours.
          6. Turn the bag over once while in the refrigerator.
          7. The longer you leave the rub on the meat, the more juicy and the more tender the meat will be.
          8. When you are ready to cook the meat (grill, bake, or broil) pour the juices from the bag over the meat for the best meat you will ever eat.

Note:  Since there are no preservatives in Mama's Rubs, the rubs may be chunky and require breaking up.  This is a small trade off for not being exposed to preservatives.
You may use any rub on any piece of meat, the titles on the meat rubs are only to give you an idea on what rub could go with what meat.

A lots of folks ask me, "Mama, now how do you go about using one of your meat rubs?" Well, I do my best to tell them all the opinions and variety of usage for one of versatile rubs... here are some of my personal favorites:

          Vegetables

          Picture
It's surprising to some folks that my meat rubs can work so well with vegetables, but once they try it, there's no going back to plain old greens again.

Corn: We're not in the "corn state" for nothing!  Whether on grilled corn on the cob or mixed in with canned corn,  it'll add a kick and give a  little spice to the naturally sweet corn.

Grilled Vegetables:  Sprinkle a rub on grilled vegetables, whether it is squash or any mixed vegetables.  The rub will add a nice compliment flavor.

Oven Fries:  Shake your raw potato fries in a little oil, bake in the oven and then sprinkle with a rub.  Midwest BBQ is especially great to use.

          Condiments

Thanks to family members and friends, I've come to find my meat rubs make condiments something exciting!

Salad Dressing: My friend Karla eats a lot of salads! She told me they can get a little plain and just plain old boring after awhile doing the same old same old. She spiced it up with adding a pinch of my meat rub spice to every dressing she makes.

Mayo Spread: We use this one a lot in Mama's household and it never fails. Want that smoky bar flavor or that kick on the tongue? Add a pinch or a few to any sandwich spread.

Dip: Put any Mama Mara's meat rub in a store bought or homemade dip for chips or vegetables to add a special kick for guests or your own enjoyment.  Or try adding a rub to sour cream to make your own dip.

Butter: It's the rage now to have "flavored butter" on your table. Why not serve up Mama's?

          Other Ideas...
