Mama Mara's History
Several years ago -- Mama, a middle aged mother of two, decided it was time to be more pro-active with healthy living. One of the steps she took was to begin reading labels on the processed food that she was buying. She was shocked to find the number of perservatives and added man-made ingredients in the food she was purchasing.
There was also the rising cost of meat! Many of the cuts of beef and pork were tough. In an effort to make them more tender Mama thought that a good meat tenderizer would help... but she soon found that they were full of salt and unnecessary ingredients.
Then one day she found a recipe for a meat rub. She rubbed a tough piece of beef, sealed it in a plastic bag and let it rest in the refrigerator overnight. The next morning she noted that the beef was sitting happily in a pool of natural juices. She placed it on a small grill and drizzled some of those natural juices over it. In a few minutes, the aroma of the blended spices permeated the air.
It only took one bite of this carefully rubbed beef to win Mama over to the meat rub experince. Not only was the natural flavor of the beef fantastic but it was "oh so" tender and juicy.
Since then Mama has been experimenting with different natural spices to create a host of flavors. Now she would love to share her meat rubs with you and let you share in her joy of eating perfectly seasoned meat -- whether it's chicken, beef, pork or fish...
